Our Dives in Camiguin: Fun Dive, Mantigue Island & Snorkeling

You can dive in Camiguin year-round. March to June generally offers the calmest seas and best visibility. From November to February, winds can pick up a little, but conditions remain fully favorable for enjoying the island's underwater world.

The water is warm year-round, between 27 and 29°C. Visibility varies by site: around 10-20 m at most spots, a bit lower (5-8 m) at soft-coral-rich sites like Old Volcano. Currents are generally mild, as Camiguin isn't known for strong currents.

Camiguin is a small macro paradise, with frogfish and seahorses spotted regularly. You'll also find clownfish, turtles at Mantigue and White Island, angelfish, parrotfish, boxfish, cowfish, as well as beautiful corals at Mantigue and White Island.

Diving around Camiguin is centered on three areas. At White Island: Black Forest, a drift dive with a beautiful field of soft and hard corals (turtles, cuttlefish, nudibranchs), and Kilambing, similar with less current. At Mantigue Island, a protected marine sanctuary: the southwest slope, rich in fish and coral, and Turtle Point, where you'll regularly spot large turtles, schools of barracuda and fusiliers, cuttlefish and ribbon eels. Finally, Old Volcano offers spectacular soft corals, with lower visibility (5-8 m) year-round.

Two simple options: by boat, a daily ferry connects the port of Jagna (southern Bohol) to Camiguin in about 4 hours. By air, Camiguin has its own airport, served from Cebu in about 1 hour.
